Prince Joins Bloody Bandwagon

Monday March 20, 2006
NOW that the Brits have finally accepted the latest Down Under tourism campaign, it seems everyone is using the word "bloody" - even His Royal Highness Prince Edward.
After a week-long stoush over the use of the word, British television audiences will be able to see an advertisement showcasing Australia's top tourist attractions, ending with the tag line: "So where the bloody hell are you?" In a television interview yesterday, the Earl of Wessex, who joined his mother Queen Elizabeth and father Prince Philip in Australia for the Commonwealth Games, also demonstrated he wasn't afraid of the "b" word. During the interview, Prince Edward joked with an off-camera producer, telling him to "shut up". "You don't know how annoying that bloody clicking is over there," he said. He also dismissed criticism the Games were no longer relevant.
